Zinc

Zinc is a trace mineral that is vital to human health. It the second most abundant trace mineral in the body after iron.

 It is found in varying concentrations in all soils, plants and animals. Today most soils used to produce our food are in lack of zinc and this translates into the plants grown in the soil are also deficient in Zinc. Especially wheat and rice are low on zinc but also plants like tea, coffee, cocoa, avocado, fruit trees and many vegetables are lacking zinc. It appears that it is a global problem with a lack of zinc in the soil and therefore the best thing to do is to acknowledge that one is not getting enough of this mineral. Processing of the food is also responsible for a decline in the amount of available zinc and heavy processed food can have lost more than 60 to 80 % of the amount available.

 

Even though one eats a diet with enough zinc there is still problems with how one looses zinc because the body is stressed. The stress can be expressed as going through difficult karma, problems at work, with family or friends, watching the news, environmental toxins, parasites in the body and eating too much sugar and processed food. All these different stimuli affect the body and it will either excrete higher amounts of zinc or the zinc will be used to try and protect the body. In times of clearing nemesis or other difficult karma there is a heavy stress load placed upon the body and it needs more minerals and vitamins to stay in balance. It is not all light workers that think about the importance of taking more vitamins and minerals when they find themselves in a difficult life dream yet it is a prerequisite to aid the body in retaining its health. Stress will affect the adrenals which secrete stress hormones out into the body. The production of stress hormones by the adrenals will use more zinc and vitamin B as well as distort the levels of sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Zinc and magnesium will also be excreted in the kidneys due to stress because it helps relax the muscles and nervous system. When the body is stressed it prefers to stay alert and tense. Since most light workers go through periods of processing heavy karma they often trigger the body to be in a state of stress. That is why it is good to have detox as well as relaxing routines to help the body come back to its center again. Meditation, walks in nature, gentle music and healthy food all helps reduce the amount of stress the body experience.     

If one is missing vitamin B6 the body can’t take up zinc from the intestines and it can be excreted again therefore it is wise to test with oneself and see if one has enough B vitamins in the body.

 

Good food sources to obtain zinc is peas, beans, lentils, peanuts, wild rice, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, fish, sesame seeds, tahini(sesame butter) and dark chocolate.

 

 

Zinc function

Zinc is needed in small but critical amounts and if there is a deficit the body will suffer due to dysfunction of important enzyme systems, as well as the cell membranes and the immune system. The body stores around 1-4 grams of Zinc distributed throughout the human body. Places of high amount of zinc in the body are the brain, bones, pancreas, liver, eyes, muscle tissue and prostate. Zinc helps in the prostate gland function and semen is particularly rich in zinc and males should consider this and replenish whatever zinc they might lose through the semen. 1-4 grams of Zinc doesn’t sound like a lot yet it is equivalent to millions and millions of zinc molecules that are used in a lot of different ways in the body. It has a wide range of uses within the body.

 

It is needed for approximately 300 different enzymes to function within the body. Some of these enzymes helps battle free radicals like SOD (superoxiddismutase), help produce insulin and break down alcohol (alcohol dehydrogenase) just to name a few of its important functions.

 

It helps stabilize and maintain cell membranes and can help repair them if they are damaged. It also stabilizes a lot of different enzymes so they can perform their intended task.

 

Zinc can form work together with proteins in the cell to regulate the expression of DNA, RNA and proteins. It is needed for the cell to turn on and off the decoding of the DNA and in the making of new cells. It is also used to relay signal through the body and cells and can influence the release of hormones. It is also involved in nerve impulse transmission and maintaining the immune system.

 

Iron, zinc and cobber is taken up by the body by the same mechanism so if one is taking heavy doses of iron the uptake of zinc and cobber will be impaired. If one is taking high doses of zinc for more than two weeks the absorption of copper is impaired. The best solution is to muscle test how much zinc the body needs and not take too much for more than two weeks. Zinc and b6 vitamin is used by the enzyme glutathione in the removal of heavy metal like mercury, lead and cadmium.

 

 

Summary  

Zinc is important in controlling the health of the body. If too little zinc is ingested through the diet, one will have a hard time detoxing from heavy metals as well as protecting the cell membranes in the brain. Many other functions in the body will also be impaired so it is advised to check and see if one needs zinc supplements. Zinc levels can drop significantly if one process difficult karma.
